This was my check-in port from Greece, so I had to get a Constituto di Arrivee from the Port Authority. I don't think it cost anything.
They told me that I should get this stamped in each major port that I go alongside.
I am not sure how seriously one should take this, as it can be quite time consuming for them and for you.
They leaned out the window and asked the immigration man if he wanted to see my passport, but since I had come from the EU (Greece) he did not want to see it.
