A quaint little town situated way out in the channel between Corfu and the Italian coast.
Since I was sailing alone, I stopped here to shorten the trip from Corfu to Otranto. I was hoping to officially clear out of Greece and return my transit log, but found that this was not possible.
I laid a bow and a stern anchor to keep my bows into the swell and had great difficulty when the stern anchor chain got wrapped around some underwater rocks.

Attempted check out (Formalities)
On my way West to Italy in the spring
I made a special trip from Gouvia to the port authority in Corfu town to clear out of Greece before heading for Othenou and Italy, but they told me that Othenou was a port of clearance and I should hand in my Transit log there.
It took many attempts to wake the port authority man in Orthenou who stuck his head out the upstairs window and told me that they don't do any check ins or checkouts, and I should just keep my transit log.
