Not much left except the boiler and a few ribs sticking out of the sand from time to time.
Parts of the movie Ryan's Daughter were filmed here amongst the ribs of the old shipwreck.
The Kakapo left Cape Town for Australia on a misty night in May of 1900 and, thinking he had rounded Cape Point, turned left and drove straight onto the beach. The crew were able to step ashore.
