Wash and fold laundry (Laundry)

We dropped our laundry off here in the morning, and Panagiotis returned it to us at the end of day. He met us after we called him, with the laundry, at the statue of Pythagoras which he delivered on his scooter.

The laundry was beautifully washed and folded.

Kokkari (Town Dock)

We docked at the end of the pier for three days. Very attractive tourist town with great tavernas.

Tsamadou Beach (Beach)

Great beach with umbrellas and sunbeds for hire (€8 per couple) with bar and snack service from the restaurant above via a cableway. There are clean flush toilets in the corner of the beach.

Nude beach on the eastern end. Good tavernas on the textile western end.

With the boat securely docked in kokkari we caught a bus to the beach. It is just a 10 minute ride.

The sign says the bus leaves Kokkari at 0845, 1115, 1235, 1415, and 1715 and returns from the beach at 0730, 0840, 0955, 1255, 1525, 1725. We also caught a taxi a few times.

Ak Kavonisi (Anchorage)

We anchored here a few times in the prevailing westerlies with good holding.

On our last visit we noticed several derelict inflatable rafts and life jackets littering the shoreline, left by refugees crossing from Turkey.

Tavern at the End of the World (Anchorage)

We anchored in the eastern part of the bay and dighied over to the tavern for a lovely lunch.

We moved around the corner to Agios Nikolaos to the east as the wind freshened from the west later in the afternoon.

Samiopoula Incorectly marked rock (Hazard)

Having diligently avoided the mark shown on the chart, we very nearly hit this rock, after furling our genoa in a strong blow and suddenly noticing green water right next to us.
